Signs and symptoms of cystocele

Cystocele has different degrees.

Depending on the stage of the disease, the patient may experience different symptoms. For example, in mild cases, the patient may not notice any symptoms. But in more severe cases, the feeling of pressure in the vagina or bladder is one of the first symptoms that a person with prolapsed bladder feels. Unfortunately, many people ignore these symptoms and delay going to the doctor. Other symptoms of bladder prolapse include the following:

1- Pain in the pelvis and lower abdomen when sitting

2- Difficulty controlling urine when sneezing or coughing

3- The feeling of fullness of the bladder right after urination

4- Difficulty in emptying urine completely

Causes of cystocele

Bladder prolapse is caused by factors that weaken the pelvic floor muscles. Here are some common reasons:

1- Difficult pregnancy and normal vaginally delivery: vaginal tissue and muscles endure a lot of pressure during childbirth. Therefore, ،we can say that normal vaginal delivery can increase the risk of cystocele.

2- Aging : With age, the tissues and muscles of the vagina become weak and will not be able to keep the bladder in place.

3- Menopause: After menopause, estrogen hormone is not secreted in women’s body. Estrogen is very effective in maintaining the health of the protective tissues of the vagina. The decrease of this hormone is one of the common causes of bladder prolapse.

4- The type of genetic tissue of the patient: in some cases, the cause of uterine prolapse may be due to hereditary or genetic disease.

5- Doing heavy work: lifting things or heavy weight repeatedly.
But lifting heavy objects only once will not cause prolapsed bladder.
Jumping from a height or doing hard sports continuously are other effective factors in bladder prolapse.

Diagnosis methods

To diagnose the disease, your doctor can find out by pelvic examinations or check the symptoms and medical records of the patient. Also, performing cystography, urodynamic test and cystoscopy are other methods that the doctor can use to determine the severity of the disease.

Treatment of cystocele

Treatment of urinary bladder prolapse can be different according to the age and stage of the disease. In addition, the doctor should also consider the general health condition and whether the patient wants to get pregnant in the future or not.

In milder cases, medicine or huron therapy is used to relieve bladder prolapse.

For the treatment of women who do not want to become pregnant in the future, the treatment method for raising the bladder is to use the patient’s tissue. Although the success rate in this method is fifty percent.

If the problem is stress incontinence, such that the patient experiences urinary incontinence after sneezing and coughing, this situation does not respond to drug treatment and requires surgical intervention.

In some cases, collagen injection may be effective at the doctor’s prescription.

Prevention Methods

Kegel exercises are one of the best exercises to strengthen the reproductive and urinary system. Continuously performing Kegel exercises for just a few minutes along with healthy eating habits is very effective in increasing the body’s physical performance. To perform Kegel exercises, you can lie on the floor, sit or even stand. It is very important that the muscles of the hips and abdomen are relaxed. Therefore, be sure to empty your bladder before exercising. Then:

1 – For six seconds, pull in your pelvic floor and genital area muscles. Remember to never overexert your muscles. Breathe deeply during the exercise to increase blood flow in the body.

2 – Then relax your muscles for ten to 12 seconds before starting the next movement and give them a chance to rest.

3 – You can start this cycle with 10 repetitions a day and gradually increase it. To get the desired result, do stretching exercises after finishing Kegel exercises.
